A Mountain View dentist is offering cash for children's candy this Halloween. Dr. Joseph Lee launched his anti-tooth decay campaign to offer kids a sweet deal: go trick-or-treating and make money while fighting cavities.

That is a lousy deal. Candy hasn't been $1/lb in 40 years. Talk about sucking all the joy right out of life. Dr. Killjoy, DDS, is just trying to drum up business. Just brush your teeth, Kids.

This is a nice option for kids. They can eat some of their candy, and sell some back. Children do not need hundreds of $$$ and they did not buy the candy, nor their costume, etc. so it is a good deal for them.

Ingenious way of incentivizing kids to eat less candy. Realistically, we have surpluses of candy after every Halloween that never gets eaten.
Also a pretty inexpensive and slick way to draw potential business to your dental practice. After all, guess who will be driving the children to redeem their money for candy swaps?
And Anonymous, what's wrong with advertising one's business and trying to increase his practice? He isn't making false or misleading claims, just broadcasting he's a dentist.

I hope this dentist will donate the candy to some worthy institution like a homeless shelter or such rather than throwing away the candy. Additionally, he needs to "incentivize"parents from letting their children take the candy in the first place.

Viola! What a great idea for re-purposing an excess we enjoy in the States.
Upon reflection, if something as small as candy can uplift a soldier overseas, it only underscores the tremendous sacrifice our troops are making for our country, and at the expense of their own lives and families.
