Council dumps Palo Alto animal control service

Mountain View decided to break off its 18-year relationship with Palo Alto Animal Services on Tuesday night, with City Council members, instead favoring a contract with a cheaper and more attractive Santa Clara-based agency.

Seems that Palo Alto has an attitude that is driving away dollars - they lost their relationship with Foothill-DeAnza and now Mountain View. Maybe they have a special plan to replenish their coffers that they could share.

Member, I think you're missing a big point about Palo Altans: they really don't want anything to do with people from communities outside of PA. They are happy to use other communities' resources (like parks) but don't want to reciprocate (see Foothill Park).

The term that quickly comes to mind about PA and its politics is 'insular'. They really would rather none of us come into PA, except maybe to eat.
