Foothill professor is an astronomy star

The chair of the Foothill College astronomy department has just been made an honorary member of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada. The rarely-awarded recognition puts the professor in the company of some of the most accomplished astronomers in the world.

My congratulations to Andrew Fraknoi, this was well-deserved! I really enjoyed the Silicon Valley Astronomy Lecture Series at Foothill College, organized by Mr Fraknoi. The speakers were top-notch and the discussions thought-provoking. The series will resume in the fall of 2012:
