Cupertino Councilman Barry Chang to run for county supervisor

Barry Chang, a Cupertino city councilman who has vigorously fought pollution by the Lehigh Southwest Cement Company, is challenging state Sen. Joe Simitian for the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors seat.

Same old same old. Move to an area that has a cement plant and quarry you can see from Cupertino. Then complain about it. It being there long before he arrived from Taiwan.

Hey, at least Old Joe voted to kill Redevelopment monster (sucking up 11% of all local property taxes). Did this city councilman fight closing RDAs?

Barry Chang's pursuit against the cement plant is exactly typical of what's wrong with liberals like him today. The plant provides jobs and obtains the needed minerals to make cement locally rather than importing them. Santa Clara county needs politicians who care about economics and can perform rational cost benefit analysis. The real problem in Santa Clara county is massive welfare fraud. Where does Barry stand on that?
