As NASA continues to develop plans for its research park at Moffett Field, the agency faces a possible land use conflict with the U.S. Army, the next-largest user of the site.

NASA needs to remember they all serve at the leisure of the taxpayer....i.e you and we and I. As for the crisis they mention they need think of the "war" as well as rescues needed out to sea, in the maountains and when they are trapped in the big easrthquake to come they wqill sure want a military presence. I know I appreciate MY military..they should too...
If they need security I guess they can call the mars rover...oh yeah I forgot..I think its stuck on a rock

Typical that the Army use the ongoing war as a reason to expand. Stop already! Everyone wants this war to end. I'd rather see my tax dollars go to a shuttle launched into space than into a country that wasn't even directly related to the terrorist attacks of 9/11.
