Creativity thriving at Crittenden

On Friday and Saturday, March 23 and 24, Crittenden Middle School will stage "Willy Wonka," a musical adaptation of the famous Roald Dahl book, "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory." The play is just one example of the thriving arts program at the school.

Wow... we didn't have that when I was in sixth grade. I was there in '04 so... wow. I guess since they've gotten rid of the Robinson and the other tiny sidekick she had things have gotten better in that school.

Would've made my days there better.

Programs like this improve the whole campus, even for those who don't participate. When lots of different kids can find lots of different ways to express themselves--through athletics, tech, debate, arts, leadership--you get a critical mass of engaged, confident students who inspire each other to excel in their own ways. My son wasn't in the play, but we had front-row seats on Saturday night to cheer our pals on.
