The illegal aliens should be reunited back where they came from. It's interesting that the march is on May 1, a communist holiday.

As said above... May Day (May 1) is the traditional COMMUNIST HOLIDAY.. Ya don't suppose that there is any connection ? Oh, that's right, we do celebrate the birthday of one C. Chavez. an avowed Communist.

I damn well hope that the CITY of MtnView is NOT spending any money for this event, and if they are, the participating organizations should be billed for the expense.

This is totally inappropriate for our City to endorse in any way.

I think those of us who don't agree with illegal immigration should show up at 6:00 p.m. with signs that say we support legal immigration.

It is funny they want to call it just immigration; leaving out the fact it is illegal and they broke the law.

They only come for the money, and now that the money has dried up, they're leaving. None of these people are coming here to become Americans, it's just a smash & grab for the loot.

Maybe we adopt "Reglamento de la Ley General de Poblacion" — the General Law on Population enacted in Mexico in April 2000, which mandates that federal, local and municipal police cooperate with federal immigration authorities in that country in the arrests of illegal aliens.

Under the Mexican law, illegal immigration is a felony, punishable by up to two years in prison. Mexicans who help illegal immigrants are considered criminals.

The law also says Mexico can deport foreigners who are deemed detrimental to “economic or national interests,” violate Mexican law, are not “physically or mentally healthy” or lack the “necessary funds for their sustenance” and for their dependents.

Ummm...This seems to be about ILLEGAL Immigration rights.

I think those are basic human rights, like fair treatment during deportation. I'm all for that. Just because the law was broken years ago does NOT mean you have a right to stay when so many are working so hard to do it LEGALLY.

BOOO! Lets have a counter rally for those who support obeying the law!

That specific church seems to promote illegal activity and political action.

A sanctuary city if there ever was one. These people are afraid because they should be if they knowingly came into the country illegally and are now trying to get away with getting citizenship ahead of those you did it legally and patiently. If we didn't have people like them, we would probably have a very good process for immigration. They are no better that tax cheats or people who deliberately cut you off on the freeway.

I have no sympathy for them.

I wonder what the Supreme Court would say about this.

Wow, I can't believe people are actually ranting about Communism still.

Wake up folks, the biggest Communist country in the world most likely built evey electronic device in your home and car. GM sells more cars in China they do in the U.S. Let's get off the anti-Communist track. The Communists did in the early 90's. I guess you weren't paying attnention.

As far as illegals. I don't have a lot of sympathy for people who break the law to come here. But at the same time I do think it's laughable that we, as a country, think we're doing everything we can to deter people from coming.

We do just enough to be able to say we're trying. Yet it's still very easy for an illegal immigrant to find work in this country.

A "march" from Rengstorff park isn't going to make any difference. Unless maybe hey hand the marchers brooms and gabrage bags and they can clean up the streets as they march. At least they could claim to have made a difference that day.

Duh. You are not here legally so yes you live with the fear of deportation.

Are these people serious? First you are here illegally then you want to try to change the laws to help support your illegal lifestyle cause you "cant live in fear". What the hell is going on?

Why do they feel like the laws don't apply to them?

Why don't just come here legally to avoid all this BS?

It should be called "The Illegal Immigration rights May Day March".

Sad thing is we learned about MV's priorities last year when they were hunting the illegal human smuggler in MV.
