Evernote has expanded rapidly since I wrote a 2009 article. They recently announced their Second Annual Developer Competition with $100K in prizes.

The company has several apps - some acquired, like Skitch, for iPad, Android and Mac users. Skitch lets you annotate screenshots.

I particularly like an add-in to Google's Chrome browser, Evernote Clearly. It removes distractions, like adverts and extra links, from a blog so that you can read the essential content.

Evernote Hello lets you capture information about people so you can remember where you encountered them. Evernote Food is one of many ways to capture your food experiences. My favorite way to do this is with Foodspotting, an app from a San Francisco company.
