Elon Musk has NASA Ames to thank

When Elon Musk's Dragon spacecraft re-entered earth's atmosphere May 31 it did so courtesy of a heat shield material developed and tested at NASA Ames.

Folks are talking about using Dragon to land playloads and possibly people on Mars.
