Other Issues, posted by Editor, Mountain View Voice Online, on Aug 28, 2012 at 2:15 pm

Hundreds of young immigrants showed up at a Menlo Park church Sunday to get legal advice on applying for President Barack Obama's Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, which could grant them a two-year reprieve from possible deportation.

Now how about a full amnesty for non-violent drug offenders trapped in our gulags?

Obama did an end run around congress on this. It is strictly a politically inspired action go get more mexican-american votes. Obama is scared tahtr he may lsoe the election due to teyh economy!

Having said that, Congress should get opff its butt and refiorm our out of date immigratiion laws!

These people are the best Americans because they want to be Americans. Let us fulfill the promise made by the Lady Liberty.

"These people are the best Americans because they want to be Americans" And what about the honest, law-abiding people who are waiting their turn in line to come to America?

What promise is being made by "Lady Liberty?" Does Lady Liberty have an age limit? Because the "Dream Act" does. Why is that? Do old illegals not deserve a path to citizenship?

Now I understand why people want to come to the United States. The rest of the world pretty much sucks. I get that.

And I'm fine with immigration. I say bring 'em on. My ancestors came here in the 1840's. We're far from full.

I do think this move by Obama is purely pandering to the hispanic vote. I also think it's lame that a President thinks it's OK to not enforce LAWS. What is the point of having laws? Obama isn't the only President to do this.. but he's clearly embraced the concept.

If Obama wants to allow more illegals to become citizens he needs to propose a change in the laws to congress. That's how it's supposed to work anyhow.

The Republiscum want them to drive wages down even further than they already are. The Democraps want the votes.

It's a win-win situation. How great is that?

Meanwhile, there are millions of people in jail for simply possessing the wrong kinds of drugs.

I love this country. It's a complete farce.
