Thursday Night Live on Castro Street
Around Town, posted by 11yr Resident, a resident of the North Whisman neighborhood, on Jul 7, 2008 at 10:43 am

What do people think of this event? There have been 2 so far, in June and July, with 2 more scheduled in the first week of August and September.

Last week it looked like a lot of folks turned out to walk down Castro Street, especially between 7 and 9pm. The kids seem to like doing chalk drawings at Castro & Dana.

There was music at the Villa St stage from about 6-9pm and a display of PT Cruisers from a local club. The farmers market section seems to only have a few booths, similar to last year's introduction of this new event.

Last year's TNL seemed to be better executed (classic corvettes, more vendors, etc.) The one last week was better than the one in June (which had hardly any vendors and no cars). I hope the next two increase in activity.

Also, i'm kind of disappointed that the restaurants on Castro aren't catering to this more. Last year, St. Stephen's Green served food outside of their restaurant, as well as a few others. I haven't seen any of the places do that this time around.
