Review: 'Bullet to the Head'
Movies, posted by Editor, Mountain View Voice Online, on Feb 1, 2013 at 12:16 pm

Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger and (to a lesser extent) Bruce Willis seem eager to prove they can spearhead gratuitous action flicks with the same gusto they mustered in the 1980s and '90s. They're sticking to their guns regardless of Father Time's inconvenient intrusion. -- TH

Stallone may be old but he isn't sporting a gut of any kind. His physique puts guys half (hell 1/3 of) his age to shame.

These days we have a constant stream of comic book movies that make up the bulk of modern day action movies. It's gotten to point where even the comic book movies themselves (Batman, Hulk, and SpiderMan) get recycled too. *This* has gotten old for me and I'd like to see these movies fade away.

Also, the 80/90s stars had more original story lines. Many of today's action scripts are made up of comics and Tolkien novels. Another +1 for the 80's action movies.

Guys that look the part the way Sly and Arnold did, not guys that strap on velcro muscles or are computer generated. Arnold in his prime is far, far more heroic than Toby McGwire in a SpiderMan suit.

I, for one, would like to see modern day versions of 80/90s action stars and an end to the comic book movies.
