After Sandy Hook, what should a community do?

When news of the terrible tragedy in Sandy Hook, Conn. broke last December, all of our hearts immediately went out to the stricken families who lost their loved ones in that senseless act of violence.

Two Sandy-Hook-inspired school-safety bills passed the California State Senate yesterday:

I expect that these new bills will be touched upon in the event tonight.
