Our city councils are losing touch with reality.
They focus on banning plastic bags and to licensing cats which makes them a laughingstock of the country. It was bad enough when we got international news for "attack squirrels" in Cuesta Park.
Who is our city planner, U.N. Agenda 21?
New York's Mayor Bloomberg is on a crusade to ban large sugary soft drinks in Styrofoam cups.
Now New York State Assemblyman Felix Ortiz wants to ban table salt in restaurants. Some of Manhattan's top cooks blasted the idea, saying the legislation lacks a certain je ne sais quoi.
Did somebody put some chemical in the water to make city councils "mentally challenged"?
We must focus on what really matters, our citizens. Did anybody notice how there are more burglaries now that jobs that pay a living wage are becoming more scarce while housing costs are skyrocketing? Higher housing costs with smaller paychecks is a formula for problems such as burglaries IMHO.
"black man ... with black hair and blue eyes"
Looks like the dirtbags are getting a little bolder.
I hope my neighbors aren't depending on 9-1-1 for help if they are the next victim.
"They focus on banning plastic bags"
The bag ban is a good idea, it has saved me money. Rather than buying a shopping cart full of stuff I only buy what I can carry and really need.

Yes, it's called Floride, the stuff that makes your bathroom turn pink and your insides.
Come On! Many towns are banning plastic bags - we are far from the first. It is not all the City Council is doing.
If you don't like the burglaries, then talk about that. Don't get all dramatic and over-exaggerate.
Our neighboring towns are also seeing a lot more burglaries, as well as many towns farther away. It is not just Mountain View. We do need to watch out for each other. There is no way we are paying for enough Police to patrol the whole town and be there every minute. It is impossible.
And, by the way, if you think about table salt and huge sodas - they ARE thinking about the citizens. The same citizens who are killing themselves by putting salt on food before tasting it, and drinking SO much fake sugar in each of those enormous sodas.
They are just not thinking the way YOU do. But then, you did not run for City Council, so you just want to sit back and complain.
To paraphrase a number of the previous posts: "Yes fair Government, make my decisions for me and protect me from my own free will."
The sheep have overbred and the herd is full of the weak and sick.....the wolves know it.
It sure doesn't take much for some to see the recent spike in burglaries as a "Sky is falling" situation. I've been around long enough to know better, but when your hobby topic is railing against the gub'ment, I guess this story makes for good fodder.
Yes, crime goes up in bad economic times, and goes down in the good. I've yet to see the downfall of our society because of it, but who knows, maybe this time is different...but its not. Have a nice day folks, its a beautiful one for sure.
Don't miss out on the discussion!
