Schools escape cuts, for now

After watching and waiting for the state Legislature to adopt a budget, local school officials have learned that, at least initially, they will not suffer the drastic cuts they expected from state funding.

What would you do about education funding in California? You can determine where and how much to spend with the California Budget Challenge. The nonpartisan Challenge allows you to create your own version of the state budget-deciding what to spend and what tax-then send your policy choices to your legislators and the governor.
