Condo project fails, leaving eyesore behind

Apparently unable to get a bank loan, the owner of an aging apartment building at 291 Evandale Ave. has given up on a plan to demolish the structure and build 144 condos. Instead, he wants to rent the apartments out again, and quick.

Amen to the bulldozers. MV has far to many substandard rental complexes at present, not to mention substandard stand alone rental houses. Just check out the housing between El Camino and Middlefield and Shorline and Showers. A simple drive from Shoreline to Showers along Latham will suffice. That whole area is prime for teardown and redevlopment, as is all housing near Rengsdorff Park.
