This makes me so upset that the government always has to take money from the kids. I know the schools have some teachers that are close to the retire age I say buy them out and keep the young blood. I have seen some of these teachers in action and all I can say is it's time for them to retire. Also it seems to me that some people at the district office make to much money. Take a pay cut and save a teachers job. They are the ones who should make more not the school superintendent. As a parent with children in Mountain View school district I would like to have an accounting of salaries and how my tax dollars are being spent. I see a lot of waste.

This is the Los Altos School District, not Mountain View Whisman. Kids in Springer School, and some in Covington and Almond may live in Mountain View.

I don't think Mountain View Whisman is planning any pink slips this year, at least not yet.

Thanks Parent for clarification on the school district. Still a very sad thing to happen to all involved. Kids education should be the most important thing and all we seem to see from our great government in Sacramento is cuts to education. I think it's time for Arnold to go BYE BYE.

what a DISASTER the re-opening of Gardner Bullis has become. millions spent on refurbishing, redistricting, hiring teachers & staff plus the hidden costs of disenfranchising the rezoned Mountain View residents who have to go the their 5th closest school instead of their 1st or 2nd closest. add to that LAEF funds from donations have to be divided over yet another school.

maybe it's time for these "smart" businessmen, Bill Cooper, Mark Goines & David Pefley, to go "BYE BYE" as well. these guys pushed the re-opening of Gardner Bullis at the peak of the real estate bubble using student population growth forecasts based on the bubble continuing.

maybe it's time for Bullis to be closed again? the Los Altos Hills kids already have priority for 50% of the slots in Bullis Charter School anyway.
