Mountain View may soon be the only Bay Area city to have a genuine 1930s-era prefab diner, trucked out from the East Coast by local auto shop owner Larry Mertl and his partner, Wayne Day.

This is exactly what the Bay Area needs to revive a sense of real living. I hope Mr. Mertly succeeds beyond his wildest dreams, and brings another, maybe a few miles north to Redwood City!!

Looking forward to seeing Food Network show up to show off the place!

If, like me, you were asking, "Where's that?": looks like B & L Auto is where Middlefield and Old Middlefield split.
