Google announced a new search function today that will allow users to find and compare public data more easily.
Google is launching the unnamed search tool by allowing users to access and analyze population and employment data by placing it conveniently on charts. Other data, such as emissions data from the US Environmental Protection Agency, will follow. The tool also allows data from different sources to be compared.
To use the function, do a regular Google search for "population" or "unemployment rate" followed by "a U.S. state or county to see the most recent estimates," says the official Google Blog post on the topic.
