Google Book Search deal under fire

Google is under increasing scrutiny for its plans to publish books online as a lawsuit settlement with authors and publishers is under court review.
Google defended the deal and explained its benefits on its [Web Link public policy blog] today.
Meanwhile, [Web Link bloggers] are criticizing Google's efforts to commoditize and control books. The justice department has opened an anti-trust inquiry into the deal, the [Web Link New York Times reports].
