Lucky in, Albertsons out
Other Issues, posted by Editor, Mountain View Voice Online, on Sep 9, 2007 at 11:50 am

To the delight of longtime customers and workers, the Albertsons store in Mountain View on El Camino Real became a Lucky again on Aug. 29, nearly 10 years after the original switch.

Very good! I liked the Lucky stores, and used to shop there all the time.

Now get rid of the LCD TV screens blasting advertisements in my face in the checkout line, and hire more checkers to replace the "do-it-yourself" registers, and I'd probably start shopping there again.

I came to California just before all the Lucky stores became Albertsons. I have to say that the name "Lucky" really seemed tacky to me so I never shopped there until they changed their name to "Albertsons". Anyway, I prefer Whole Foods, Trader Joes and Safeway.

I'm with Dave on the matter regarding flat screen tv's in the check out line. They have no place being there. In fact, I recently went into the new Lucky store at Grant and El Camino and they are no longer there. Thank goodness. I didn't like being assaulted by them. I do not need to be entertained while I'm waiting in line. What's wrong with being alone with my thoughts? I can't believe which way tis world is going. No wonder we have so many more cases of ADHD reported. We've lost our focus.
