I have lived in Korea from 1982-1986 and 1993-Present, a total of 22 years as Military and Civilian. I can agree totally with Mr. Straub. I was in Korea in 2002 when the "accident" happened. The perception of this tragic affair in Korea and the U.S.A. was and is completely different. It is a cultural difference which can't be understood by either cultures, which in itself is tragic and leads to unnecessaray confrontations. Thankfully these this confrontation has generally abated and relations and feelings for the U.S.A. by Koreans has greatly improved.
