Disturbing Home Invasion on Middlefield Road
Around Town, posted by Todd Willows, a resident of the Shoreline West neighborhood, on Nov 15, 2009 at 12:43 am

I wonder if ATMs could be installed with an "I'm Being Robbed" button that set off a notification at the police station. Might help prevent such things.

Sounds like Meadowood Apartments needs to beef up their security.

The account given of this story is why mainstream media is essentially useless. The perp is described as "of medium build and weight." Is he white, black, Latino, Asian? Why do they avoid full description? Because they are afraid of offending someone, they're afraid of being pounced by some designated victim cult.

There ought to be an "I'm being robbed" variation on the PIN code. And people should keep a can of wasp spray around, just in case.

Probably had a mask on?

Banks could have better cameras at the ATMS also. When the "I'm Being Robbed" code is entered, it could scan a wide area to see the perp, the car, etc.

I used to live at Meadowood. They have no security per se, but it's in a nice neighborhood. I'm not sure security gates or something like that would have helped, anyway. That kind of stuff mostly provides a false sense of security.

Believe they have security patrol service at night, or at least used to have.

it's a very nice place only problem is the kids that park on San Ramon that leave their mess on the street and the group of kids that

get dropped off to sell magazines in the complex. they come knocking

at least until 8pm begging you to buy something from them.

i don't mind the kids on san ramon but they could be a little neater as they do need someplace to hang out but what slobs.

Sounds sinister. A guy goes to all of that trouble, figuring out how to undo a window lock, kidnap and drive a woman to the bank.

If he wanted money, he could have robbed somebody at an ATM or on the street with a lot less trouble.

What has he been doing - stalking this woman? Others?

Sounds like he's practicing to do a lot worse. Let's home he screws up soon, DNA, etc., and law enforcement catches him.
