City, Google in hotel talks

For more than 20 years the city has had a goal to build a large hotel with a conference center. Finally, with the help of Google, that goal might be realized.

Last time this came up the mayor was Joe Kleitman whose "the city bends over for money" attitude was "how many variances do you need?" We'll be watching closely this time to see whether the city sells out or minds its own rules about new development is to be done. It would be nice if issues like sight lines and the environment still meant something around here.
