Student food drive a success

Original post made by extra!credit, Mountain View Voice Blogger, on Dec 29, 2009

A shout-out to all the Los Altos high students who helped collect over 12,000 pounds of food for their annual Second Harvest Food Bank drive. With donations from Draegers customers, as well as cans from classrooms, the students exceeded their goal for '09, and collected more food than last year. Jack Montgomery, ASB vice president, was especially vital in the drive's success.

Over at Saint Francis High School, students collected 350 coats and 130 blankets earlier this month. The items were donated to local charities for distribution to those in need in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties.
