Looks to me that she is a typical power hungry politican. As a mayor, she voted to cut services that were a daily usage type in favor of emergency type out of personal experience. Not sure how that is good for Mtn. View residents on a daily basis when we can't access the needed services.
She is already talking about getting the Vice chair position on the board. Doesn't this reprent a person who wants power? And how many agency does one need to be on to serve the public? Didn't she say she was the only care provider for her parents? She must be a wonder women!

Look at the great policy decisions in the past. Who really cares what happens with LAFCO and VTA. They suck wind and rely on the voting public to keep them in power. Chaos is really not that much worse as it is self organizating rather then political horse trading. City and/or County appointments are management positions no sane person wants and the people have shown little to zero ability to manage anything.

The VTA is awful right now; they have cut services, and as a result, Outreach -- the disabled transportation service -- has severely cut their services. It affects many people that I know ... I cannot go anywhere on weekends and after 6:30 on weekdays because I don't have a bus route ... many old people are now unable to use Outreach to get to their doctors/dialysis appointments ... it's a MAJOR case of institutionalized discrimination; some people in VTA are obviously getting grossly overpaid, only further emphasizing the fact that our society's status quo favors rich people.
I won't say that this is a bad move or anything, but based on the past, it raises serious issues.

Power hungry politician? A city council rep on a County Transportation agency? Are you serious?
This article is interesting in that MV and the other small North County cities are getting a bit more of a voice, but Margaret's well-deserved appointment is not in the least bit odd. Get a grip, folks

What exactly has Abe-Koga done for MV when mayor? I can't remember anything of benefit to claim she's a good administrator. Ok, she goes to VTA, which seems the common place where all these politicians get dumped to in the south bay.
