Noise at night keeps stores' neighbors awake.
Around Town, posted by Tired Neighbor, a resident of the The Crossings neighborhood, on Jan 4, 2008 at 7:52 am

Noisy parking lot sweepers and leaf blowers at some of the shopping malls and large stores are keeping nearby residential neighbors awake at night. Can anything be done about this late night and early morning noise?

Try reporting it to the police or MV City Code Enforcement, at (650)526-7713. There are time restrictions on construction noise which might also apply to theses maintenance noises too. Also report it to the MV City Council and request that they consider enacting a code/ ordinance for such issues.

How about a ban on leaf blowers, like a lot of towns are doing?

The other night after midnight it sounded like they were using chain saws over at the San Antonio mall!

How about a ban on operating loud parking lot sweepers after 10pm?

Noise pollution in this area seems to be getting worse.

When people think they can't do anything about it, sometimes they just give up. But the stress from disrupted sleep takes its toll on health and on work productivity. I wouldn't be surprised if lack of sleep even increased crime. I agree, report the noise makers to city code enforcement, and ask the city council for an ordinance against night noise.
