Another frozen-yogurt shop? Really? Realllly?
Restaurants, posted by TS, a resident of the Old Mountain View neighborhood, on Oct 20, 2010 at 4:53 pm

C'mon Mountain View... There are a few things that downtown Mountain View does not need: More asian-style restaurants, hair/nail salons, or frozen yogurt shops. Why are we not attracting useful (and much needed) businesses like an American diner or a (clean & well stocked) grocery store? No offense... but, Mountain View Market is disgusting (it smells like a pet store, and has a terrible selection of edible goods), ditto for Easy Foods just down the block.

The whole area is plagued with snack shops: coffee "houses", designer cupcake shops, smoothie shops, hot pretzel shops, ice cream shops.. There are way too many specialty snack shops and not enough places willing to sell you a quick, healthy, balanced, inexpensive meal. If we all stuck to our 3 square meals a day, then obesity would not be an epidemic. Too bad our culture is all about the snack and not the meal.

Maybe we should try to convince Hobes to add a new location in downtown. They are a Mountain View Classic after all.

Plus I think the council claimed a grocery store will be considered when the downtown population hits 4,000 for the sake of economic feasibility. So be patient.

Where is there a new yogurt shop? We love it, but drive to Cupertino to buy it at a place where you can serve yourself. MV's frozen yogurt choices are limited and very expensive.
