Traffic Circle Barriers
Around Town, posted by southbay reader, a resident of the Blossom Valley neighborhood, on Feb 14, 2008 at 5:58 pm

Has anyone seen the ugly rubber traffic circle at the intersection of Rose Avenue and Fordham Way in Mountain View? It is so ugly. It looks like a track for remote controlled race cars. I feel sorry for the neighbors who have to look at or drive by it everyday. The homes in that area are very nice and expensive. This circle of rubber bumpers and flourescent orange cones looks hideous. Is this a temporary installment or is the city planning to do something permanent in the future?

No doubt it's hideous. Why not make each one a more permanent molded cement circle that looks like a small European turn-a-about and then plant flowers or whatever in the middle. Hec, the neighborhood can keep it up. This city just doesn't think. Make it look good and the neighborhood and city looks good. Up go property prices and up go tax revenues. Sounds like the opposite will occur now.
