Donation aims to help Castro students

With the help of a private donation, Castro Elementary School has begun a program aimed at improving the language skills young students who are struggling.

What a great story. And what a great couple! This is so generous. It could really change some lives - these lovely children will get help when they need it most.

This couple has been making targeted donations directly to the District, in amounts similar to this, since at least 2003 (haven't read all the minutes!). BTW, Castro is one of the Title I schools that will be losing Federal money if the plan to drop federal aid/oversight goes into place (an earlier N. Veronin article).
