The first draft of new voting-district maps that will change legislative boundaries were released by the California Citizens Redistricting Commission on Friday, June 10.

Thank you for carrying this momentous story! We should all be grateful to the Citizens Redistricting Commissioners for their careful, thoughtful work. I'm glad you cited the watchfulness of the League of Women Voters through all this, and that the League is still encouraging interested persons to comment on these map drafts.

Finally the voters get to elect the politicians, rather than the other way around. I looked at the maps but wasn't able see what the proposal would mean for Mountain View. Anyone else knows?

I would also like an answer to Martin's question. I would expect the Mountain View Voice to have some information on what it means for Mountain View, not just a generic story that could apply to anywhere in the state (except for contacting one particular senator who doesn't even represent Mountain View).
