Google buys Pear Avenue Theatre

In what may be a competition with Microsoft over real estate in the North Bayshore area, Google recently purchased the building that houses a small local theater group at 1220 Pear Ave.

Has anyone else heard the rumors that Google is moving into the former Mercury Interactive (now HP Mercury) offices located on North Whisman Road? I wonder if there is any truth to the rumors...
