Shooting birds, with a camera
Around Town, posted by Editor, Mountain View Voice Online, on Nov 7, 2011 at 11:37 am

The photo exhibit "Birds at Shoreline: Aflight!" is wrapping up on Nov. 20, leaving two more weeks for people to see photos of nearly 40 bird species at Shoreline Park, including those taken by Mountain View resident Luis Villablanca.

Isn't shooting birds with a camera much more fun than with a shotgun? Why don't those folks hauling their shotguns through Shoreline Park try using cameras instead?

Shooter, I like shooting with a camera and a firearm. While I am not (yet) a bird hunter, I'm confident that pictures of birds don't taste anything like the real thing. Just like hugging a picture of a tree isn't the same as hugging a real one.

Now if you can just get a duck hunter to hug an actual duck, that might be a sporting challenge!

making the devil's advocate here, since I don't like firearms at all. However most of the people who are anti hunting (I am not) are also meat eater. Frankly I'd rater eat an animal that was hunted down (and therefore had a happy life) rather than one who lived its whole life in a cage. As for me, I am shooting birds with camera and have nice shots of birds with blue beek, but I also like to see them in my plate :/ nobody's perfect :(
