Other Issues, posted by Editor, Mountain View Voice Online, on Nov 23, 2011 at 2:15 pm

Though the recession might be easing, workers at the Day Worker Center of Mountain View are still having little luck in finding employment. But that doesn't mean they aren't productive.

I don't want to sound mean during holiday times. Cities and towns like Mountain view think it is OK to violate immigration laws and make it a refuge for illegal aliens with 'Day Worker Center'. This state is already in the red for so many years because of all the welfare benefits for so many years ins spite of the reduce revenue. I understand they are trying to use donations to support the 'Day Care center'. Shouldn't they support our own legal residents first and take care of them completely instead of allocating portion of the donation for this day care center? It seems to me Mtnview and its like kind want to make it easy for illegal people to stay here and take away the jobs from people who are legally eligible. Shame on you Mtnview and whoever came with this idea.

Tell me what jobs the Day Worker center takes away from others looking for jobs. Reality is these fine people do work no one else wants to do. Also the Center or it occupants receive no support from the City or State.

@Sylvan Sam: Really? You're going to go there? If I had no job, you can guarantee I'd want one of the ones "that no one else wants to do", just to put food on the table. Who are these people you're talking about in your fantasy world that don't want to do "work no one else wants to do"? Name one. I'm willing to bust my a$$ doing hard labor, if that's what it takes. That's what Americans do. You know Americans, right? People who are here LEGALLY, and follow the laws of the land. Take your la la fantasies elsewhere, for real Americans have no use for the likes of you.
