It's too bad not all the residences in Mountain View have a neighborhood designation. I suppose I'm closest to North Whisman, but I definitely don't love in it. Any chance to designate oneself as living in Mountain View without identifying with a neighborhood that isn't quite right?
[Oh, and "OTHER" doesn't post, and "another community" is wrong.]

As far as I know, there are really only two sections of Mountain View, the good section and the bad section. The good section gets the speed bumps, pretty corner parks and whatever else they want. The bad section gets halfway houses, liquor stores, gang reform houses and all the crime that comes with these things.

To Judielaine: We will be adjusting the neighborhood choices. Please stay tuned and in the interim, simply select the closest designation to you. We would love to have your comments.

Dear MV Voice webmaster,
When you get around to adding the School Communities to the drop down list, please make sure you add the Los Altos School District schools to the list. I really like that feature of Palo Alto online.

Dear Webmaster,
When you click on Blog as a Category under TownSquareForum (to the right of Sports) the pull down menu doesn't offer Blog as a choice for the category. Maybe the link is wrong or maybe the choice of Blog should be added to the Pull Down Menu for Category.

Whoever assigned neighborhood designations shouldn't have used streets as the dividing lines. I'm on the El Camino side of Sleeper, so I'm considered to be a part of Martens-Carmelita--even though there's no access to Martens or Carmelita without going back out to Grant Road, driving towards El Camino to the second traffic light, and turning right. My neighbors across the street are considered to be in a different neighborhood, Waverly Park. This doesn't make much sense.
Thanks for setting up this forum! I see lots of potential here if it's properly maintained.

In response to the post by pat spurr, my guess is that Martens-Carmelita is included because it is on the list of neighborhood associations that appears on the City's website. Maybe the Voice used that for starters.

What a wonderful forum for our neighbors to voice their concerns and opinions. Looking forward to some interesting questions and posts. For starters, how about some summer family events at Cuesta Park during the weekend? I remember City of Mtn. View had their anniversay party there years ago and it was a huge success. Would like to see more of that with live entertainment. The city of Los Altos has a community picnic every year. Maybe and ice cream, root beer float social, or a BBQ.
