Considering the recent questions from Republican Senator Charles Grassley to NASA about the sweetheart deal H211 has been getting from NASA Ames, I cannot see how the president would want to get involved in anything involving H211. A scandal would negatively impact his re-election.

Wow.. you know you're trouble when you "hope" 20 whole people will show up for you demonstration. Out of the 80,000 that live in Mountain View. Awesome.

That will send a clear message to the President.

No one really cares about that Hangar. It's time to let it go.

Hundreds of people have showed up for hours-long public meetings to support preserving the Hangar, and thousands have signed petitions. As far as sweetheart deals, I would agree that when a private entity offers to pay to preserve a federally owned historic structure and then offer up use back the the government use of about a third of the building, that is a sweetheart deal. For the government. And the community. Because while there are always a few naysayers, Hangar One is a local landmark and icon, there's no reason it can't inspire future residents of the area as it has for many decades. Most people I've talked to about the Hangar get that.

Even if Google were able to pay the $45M to re-skin Hangar One, the way the government is reducing budgets for all federal agencies, what makes you think NASA will be able to continue the ongoing maintenance and support costs for the Hangar? The Hangar served it's purpose for many years when the government was willing to spend money on Historical facilities. Today is a different story and there comes a time when you have to let go of the things you can no longer afford. Just like individuals, even the government is trying to live within its means. The people interested in saving the Hangar need to put their money on the table and stop expecting the US government to pay for something that is no longer serving a purpose.

I was happy to find the Moffatt Field museum open this morning. My out-of-town guest and I were given a most interesting tour by one of the dedicated docents who give so much of their time to make such an invaluable asset possible.

In 1930 the US Government bought the site from a group of locals who had for the foresight to purchase the land and then sell it to Uncle Sam for the grand price of $1.00!!! One might argue that it's time for a big of payback. Certainly, those who have worked so hard to preserve this one-of-a-kind facility deserve our admiration and support. Not sarcastic ridicule.

At least there's 20 people willing to get off their rumps and use their God-given rights as Americans to express their opinions, and protest something they don't like.

I applaud them for at least TRYING rather than just complaining online...again, my own opinion.
