Now it just sits there, empty and idle. Where can we get our money back.
What am I writing about? The train station of course.

Regarding the empty train station erected at great public expense, what conditions did the City of Mountain View add to make a lease so difficult. A small combo snack shack/bike shop/coffee shop or newspaper stand would all make sense here. As a former Mt. View resident, I fail to understand why such valuable real estate stands empty?

Can someone refresh my memory, what was there before they built the depot? I love the look of the building, and I'm sorry that the city hasn't been able to put it to good use.

City manager Kevin Duggan just told me that the city is negotiating with a tenant right now. Several months ago the voice ran a brief story about it.

Does this mean that the Japanese couple who run their little stand will have to leave? I'd rather see them in the Depot rather than having them leave.

What about selling legalized marijuana out of the old, new train station? How much time did the council burn up last year talking about that? It could also double as the city's new teen center. Maybe the city could rent it to Google. But what ever happens, don't put any public rest rooms there. That's the last thing a train station needs. Better off relieving yourself in public.
