This is way past due. Too bad all this data and short term enforcement will most likely fade away as the city finds a way ( again) to justify not doing anything about it. Cars rule in MV and that's partly why so many accidents are happening. It's near impossible to get the city to do any traffic calming, and to address certain areas where bike lanes and crosswalks are non existent, inadequate or incomplete. It's beyond me why has the city NOT implemented ANY safe routes to schools, bike boulevards, more speed humps, lighted crosswalks, fixed the dangerous incomplete bike lane at Grant Rd north of Martens, fixed the dangerous crosswalks on Shoreline near downtown, fixed the bike lane REMOVED from Calderon. The city has done such a great job with the Stevens Creek Trail, but the city commuter and pedestrian routes otherwise leave a lot to be desired.

Any chance of this happening in Palo Alto? There is little worse than coming upon a bike accident on city streets here. Many times there is an accident on Bryant, which is supposed to give priority to bicycles.

When we first moved here I was an avid cyclist and I was told (by the real estate agents, of course) that people in Palo Alto expected to share the road with bikes, but that does not seem to be the case, then, or now.

There needs to be some analyses of this in all the Bay Area Cities.
