Palo Alto man dies in Tahoe plane crash

A Palo Alto pilot was killed and his wife was injured after their private plane crashed in a wooded area in South Lake Tahoe Monday, the El Dorado County Sheriff Department confirmed.

Sorry to hear about this accident. I wonder what went wrong.

It sounds like the pilot had been flying this same plane for 40 years? Impressive.

I have flown out of the Tahoe airport many times. It would appear,sans prop damage, the engine failed.One does not have many options in this terrain when that happens.
God bless his sole.

Sounds like a lovely family... functional even. Sorry they have to go through this tragedy.
