We tried Uwink for friends & family night! ( free food!!!). It was awesome, and not just b/c it was free. The atmosphere is great, the games fun & interactive and the food was delicious. It is an excellent addition to the venues already on Castro.
Welcome to MV Uwink & thank you for a terrific evening. I will be back for sure!

I have been there and it is awesome. The whole experience is a long time coming. You are in total control of your meal and entertainment! I highly suggest you go. I am going to head back this coming week with a group of friends.

I tried uWink's tonight. I was not impressed with the food (carnivore's might have a better impression of the food) but the touch screen in the center of the table kept me entertained. You can go solo on the video games or interact with others at your table or in the restaurant.
The touch screens in the middle of the tables are like large versions of cell phones or blackberrries. If you're one of those people who likes to occupy yourself with technology while out with others then this is your place. If you prefer one on one face time with others, then this is not the place to go.

The games/entertainment were pretty disappointing. None of the games really take advantage of the possibilities that the technology offers. They're mostly just stupid trivia games. Since google wifi is all over town, you and your friends could go to any restaurant with your laptops and have much more fun playing games over the Internet.
On the other hand, the food was (surprisingly) good and the beer selection nicely wide. Perhaps both were a bit pricey though.
