Fun tech ideas for kids
Original post made by Angela Hey, Mountain View Voice Blogger, on Oct 9, 2008
Google had a contest to make the largest tower from tiny marshmallows and spaghetti. Another exhibit used toothpicks and gumdrops to make domes (Web Link). When I was 10 years old I climbed to the cross at the top of St Paul's Cathedral dome in London and discovered that it had both an inner and outer dome. The California State Capitol in Sacramento and St Peter's Basilica in the Vatican both have inner and outer domes. So congratulations to anyone who can make a large inner and outer dome from either spaghetti or toothpicks.
