Home Depot story a goof

A series of misleading reports in several news outlets boil down to one big correction: Mountain View has never received, requested or required $250,000 from Home Depot to help pay for the city's Day Worker Center.

What happened to the other comments thread on this article?

It was locked for no reason, and now it is gone. Eric and I were having a very civil debate about the Home Depot development proposal. I enjoy contributing to this forum, but I am puzzled by these recent actions by the editorial staff.

Who cares? Home Depot sent out false information, newspapers apparently quoted them ... So what?
