I'VE GOTTEN some great responses to this week's introduction of Express, our online service which delivers daily headlines by e-mail (sign up!). But my favorite is from Marcia Vierra:
"Great job. It's nice to see up to the minute news from Mountain View in my e-mail. I was just talking to some of my neighbors about starting a neighborhood watch as I was just notified by another neighbor that we had a residential robbery in broad daylight yesterday a couple of streets over. This would be an excellent way to inform neighborhoods about things to watch for in our city. If a general description is posted here and is spotted in another section of our city by one of your readers, a quick call to police could prevent another resident from being violated. Just a thought."
Ms. Vierra may be on to something. On the other hand, maybe Twitter handles that sort of thing already? I'm not much of a Twitterer, or Twit, or whatever they call it, so I don't know -- but would love to hear anyone's thoughts on it.
