Kudos to Mountain View for trail progress!

I find it bewildering that the trail south of El Camino almost wasn't, due in huge part, to resistance from a few Waverly Park residents near the creek. Now that they successfuly fought the trail follwing the creek in their area, the numerous homeless encampments will stay in their back yards. They are plentiful near the hwy 85 undercrossing. Our daughter has adopted this section of creek, and we help keep it clean, as we get permission a couple times a year to enter this "no trespassing zone".

We purchased a house from one of the trail opponents, and were sad to be too late to support the trail plan along the back of Waverly Park.

As other new families spring up in Waverly park we will gladly appreciate and embrace any local trail access we can get, as opposed to dealing with dangerous ElCamino traffic, or having no trail at all.

I hope that the project gets done ahead of schedule. I hold my breath a little every time I drive through that area. Between car traffic on El Camino, pedistrian traffic and trying to get in and out of the shopping plaza there, its a near nightmare. I hate to say it, but I've stopped frequenting the shopping area there due to one-too-many hear misses with another vehicle.

Im with you GSB-- I was down that way earlier this week. The lane merge (southbound) happens WAY to close to the 85 onramp!

Eric,

Just happened to meet one of the engineers in charge of the project last night by chance. Says the southbound merge should be improved in the next couple of weeks.
