Google X, a project of the Mountain View search behemoth, released a very interesting video today. The short film showed what a day in the life wearing Google's futuristic Project Glass glasses might be like.
Think Terminator or Predator -- only without the assault weapons and invisibility.
Apparently, Google envisions a day when all of our social media, messaging, calls, news, updates and everything else our smart phones can do for us will be filtered not through a handset, but through a set of spectacles sitting on our faces 24/7.
The video, linked below, shows a man waking up, checking the weather, setting reminders, answering phone calls, responding to text messages, ordering tickets and even discovering that his friend (who has shared his location) is nearby. The trick is that our hero does all this without ever looking at a traditional computer screen. All of these things are accomplished -- ostensibly -- with voice commands (and maybe with software that tracks where his eyeballs move?).
