Eshoo 'disturbed' by plan to demolish cork room

Original post made on Jun 27, 2010

In a terse letter to U.S. Navy Secretary Ray Mabus, Congresswoman Anna Eshoo says she is "disturbed" by news reports about the planned demolition of the unique "cork room" inside Moffett Field's Hangar One, and she asks pointed questions about why the Navy is set to destroy the historic structure.

This is a fine example of Military intelligence. Someone needs to reduce a budget and has selected Moffett as the cutting item no matter what importance it may have. If Ms Eshoo manages to save this building we should have part of it dedicated to her. The Eshoo cork room.

Please save this structure.

Perhaps we could all try to distinguish between importance and sentimental value. There is a mindbogglingly huge Federal deficit.
