Dig a spade into the ground and pry it up. Pretty sad, the soil was only wet down about 1 to 2 inches at most.

Every drought ends with a first rainfall though, and this weekend's not only helps a little in that respect, it greatly reduced the daily exterior usage by residents. Even though the creeks didn't flow, residents won't need to water anything for a while. I look at it like "banking" a day's normal usage for the future. Hoping any rainmaker comes in at anytime.

These last four days, from Thursday through Sunday, in Napa they had over 8" of rainfall for those four days.In Mountain View, we had less than an inch. What happened to the Pineapple Express??? Our drought does continue but more so here in Mountain View and for points south!!!!!!
