Sounds great for the ESL kids. How about the non-ESL kids who are the MAJORITY at Huff?

And what second or third language does this expert speak? Spanish? Chinese? Somewhere I missed that.
"It is not uncommon for many of the most talented and experienced individuals seeking a teaching or administrative positions to be hired by mid-April."
HOWEVER, MVWSD makes all their inside appointments well before that time frame!

What about support for the students excelling? I always felt there was too much of resources and support tied up in the English language learner program at MVWSD.
We are living in a nice Ohio Suburb for a while, and it is a breath of fresh air; all the support my kids are getting. The screening and support for advanced and gifted children is amazing here. There is a huge staff devoted to just that. There is also an equal amount of support for the other end of the spectrum. The overall test scores here are among the highest anywhere, proving that support in the middle and at each end of the spectrum is the right thing to do for the kids, and the test scores are a fringe benefit.
AND they have school buses here...
