This is a warm, sincere, fun loving collection of poems. Valencic's style is unique. I enjoyed reading the book very much. Everyone that reads it seems to relate to the special times when they were growing up. I am looking forward to Valencic's future books.
Jacqueline Valencic is not only a wonderful person to know - she is an awesome and creative writer. Her work is inspirational. You can't help but let your mind wander and daydream as your read her poems. Nostalgic and witty! Not only is her writing innocent and true, but the illustrations (most especially the cover) are simple and beautiful!!! I'm so proud of her and all her accomplishments!

I can't wait to read a copy of Jacqueline (Jackie's) book.
I grew up in Mt. View during the 50's, 60's,, and knew Jackie well
from Mt.View High School.
She was very creative from the get-go,, as when we were in a high
school public speaking class together,, & had to give an oral presentation, she chose comedy.. acting both parts of the Smothers
Brothers. It was the funniest "one woman" show I'd seen!!
I'm heading to the library/bookstore to get a copy of her poems!!
A lot of us "neighborhood" kids loved to stop by their house to
watch the koi swim in their pond. They had a low fence so many could
admire it. I'm sure it was one of the only
ones in Mt. View at that time! How wonderful for all of us to be
able to grow up in dear Mt. View & know that "Jackie" has been such a success. One of my favorite memories was eating at Qui Hing Low
restaurant that Jackie's family operated & later, "Andy's" which her
family owned. All the best... Vi
You missed a great MVHS Class of 1966 Reunion this past Oct. 1, 2011. I remember you singing "People who need people are the luckiest people in the world" during one of the variety shows. You showed great courage singing the song.
Wishing you continued happiness and success.
