El Camino CFO retires after 30 years
Marla Marlow has stepped down as chief financial officer of El Camino Hospital, Chief Executive Officer Kenneth Graham announced at a board meeting May 12.
Retired healthcare executive Robert Dvorak will take over as interim CFO while the hospital conducts a nationwide search for a permanent replacement, Graham said.
Marlow had been the hospital's CFO for more than 30 years.
The hospital announced in April that it had suffered an $11 million budget shortfall this year due to reduced revenue from patients and an $8 million write-off of uncollectible bills. At Wednesday's meeting, the hospital announced $1.4 million in profits for March, reducing the deficit to $9.9 million for this year.
